Emergency Repairs
Note: When using a rental vehicle, the driver/driver’s department or club assume the liability of the care of the vehicle. Any damages beyond the normal wear and tear of the vehicle found after the reservation will be the financial responsibility of the department, organization or club renting the vehicle.
When emergency services are required for a University rental vehicle, use only qualified professional services and the following guidelines:
Minor conditions up to $200
- Contact the Office of Risk Management using the contact information provided in the plastic wallet attached to the keys.
- Use the credit card supplied in the key case. Alternatively, the driver can use a personal payment method to be reimbursed.
- During business hours, call the Transportation Service shop for assistance at 765-494-7221.
Major conditions over $200
- Move the vehicle off the road and to a safe location, if possible.
- Call Wex Roadside Assistance at 1-866-329-3471 if needed.
- Inform Transportation Services of the condition immediately upon returning to campus.
Accident Procedures
If a vehicular accident occurs, follow the guidelines below.
- Notify local police immediately – do not leave the accident scene.
- Move the vehicle off the road and to a safe location, if possible.
- Contact the Office of Risk Management using the contact information provided in the plastic wallet attached to the keys.
- Exchange information with the other driver(s) by completing the red In Case of an Accident form provided in the vehicles glove box.
- Gather the following information: driver’s name, address, city, state, zip code; driver’s license number, date of birth; license plate number, state, year; make, model, year, color of other vehicle
- For Wex Roadside Assistance, call 1-866-329-3471 if needed.
- Continue driving the rental vehicle if it is still safe to do so, and inform Transportation Services of the accident immediately upon returning to campus.
