Purdue University Office of Supplier Diversity and Indiana Construction Roundtable host successful event

The Purdue University Office of Supplier Diversity and the Indiana Construction Roundtable partnered to host an information session on Purdue’s Campus Master Plan and the Purdue Research Foundation’s Discovery Park District. The event took place on Sept. 19 and was well attended by members of the construction community.

Michael B. Cline, senior vice president for Administrative Operations, gave opening remarks, highlighting some of Purdue’s recent construction projects and reaffirming the University’s commitment to the inclusion of minority-, veteran-, and women-owned businesses.

Michael Gulich, director of Campus Planning and Sustainability, followed up by presenting current and future plans for Purdue.

“It was my pleasure sharing the vision for Purdue’s West Lafayette campus and Discovery Park District with the Indiana Construction Roundtable,” said Gulich. “Strong relationships are needed in order to make our vision a reality and to be successfully integrated, and I’m grateful for this engagement opportunity.”

The event not only provided a preview of the projects to come, but it also created an opportunity for the diverse construction community to network with other companies and key Purdue personnel.

Jeremy Slater, director of Discovery Park District, also spoke at the event. Michael Babcock, Supplier Diversity manager, and Demetrius Glover, executive director of Indiana Construction Roundtable, served as moderators.

Purdue’s Office of Supplier Diversity Development strives to connect small and diverse businesses with business opportunities across the Purdue enterprise.

Attendees will again have the opportunity to engage at the annual Relationships to Partnerships Conference on Nov. 15. More information about the event will be shared in the coming weeks.
