Dietetics Residential Program
Are you a Dietetics major and want to live with others in the same major? Would you like to connect with other students who are also interested in the field of nutrition and dietetics? In this learning community you will participate in a shared classroom through NUTR 106, meet professionals engaged in different specialties within the field of dietetics, and learn how the food we grow and consume impacts the environment, our health and well-being. Plus, you will get to know your peers, faculty, and staff through social events throughout the academic year.
The residential program is for Dietetics majors who wish to live with the learning community.
Eligibility
- First-time beginning students in the College of Health and Human Sciences with a major in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition and Dietetics/Nutrition, Fitness & Health
Residential Component
- Required. The location of learning community housing will be determined based on the incoming size and needs of the learning community.
- A signed housing contract is required to apply to this learning community. Once a housing contract is completed, you will indicate your learning community housing preference within the learning community application. Applications received by the priority deadline will be considered first.
- If you want to be placed with a preferred roommate and be admitted to a learning community with a required residential component, both you and your roommate must apply (and be accepted) to the same learning community. Students admitted to learning communities with a required residential component cannot be paired with students admitted to learning communities with an optional residential component.

NUTR 10600 - The Profession of Dietetics
Every fee eligible student involved with a learning community (LC) at Purdue will be assessed the $200 LC fee to their university account. These funds support activities and travel, signature LC events, housing assignments and/or course registration and instructor stipends.
Events and Activities Included:
- Fair Oaks Farms Tour and Lunch
- Participate in cooking demonstrations
- Interact with Purdue Sports Dietitians
- Network with Purdue and local area Registered Dietitians
- Learn to develop a portfolio
- Participate in service learning opportunities
