Orientation and Transition Programs
Take all of the right steps to get your Purdue career off to a successful start!
Learning Communities - If you want to get the hang of college life quickly, apply to a Learning Community. LCs participants are grouped according to academic or other interests and attend one or more classes as a small group, live together in a residence hall or both (depending on the LC). LCs are a great way to meet your fellow scholars and connect with faculty, staff and the campus!
Summer Transition Advising and Registration (STAR) - If you are beginning in the Fall term, don't forget to sign up for STAR. This program is required for all domestic, first-year and transfer students enrolling for the first time in the fall. You will receive academic advice, create your initial course schedule and take care of other important business to prepare for life at Purdue.
Boiler Gold Rush (BGR) - A week before classes start, join your new Boilermaker family at Boiler Gold Rush. This new student orientation program helps you meet new people, moves you into your residence hall early, and gives you information about what resources are now available to you as a student at Purdue.
If you are beginning in the Spring term, check out Spring Welcome.
