Last updated: Feb. 25, 2021
Staff in Student Success Programs will host and participate in a variety of events aligned with Purdue’s Mental Health Action Week from March 1-5, 2021. Purdue staff, faculty and students are invited to participate. Please download the Socio app, search for Mental Health Action Week (MHAW), and use the access code MHAW for a full calendar of events. Reservations are required for in-person events and can be made in the app.
MONDAY, MARCH 1
Mindfulness & Smoothies: 4:45-5:30 p.m. at the Co-Rec Feature Gym. Participate in mindfulness exercise practices to aid mental health before grabbing a smoothie! Hosted by Span Plan Nontraditional Student Services.
Virtual Student-Faculty Mental Health Town Hall: 6-7:30 p.m. Join the Purdue Student Government and other campus partners for a virtual town hall to allow moderated, Q&A-style dialogue about campus mental health resources, shared challenges from this past year, and solutions moving forward. Hosted by the Purdue Student Government, with representatives from the LGBTQ+ Center, Recreation and Wellness, the Office of the Dean of Students, CARE, the Disability Resource Center, and other units from the Office of the Provost.
TUESDAY, MARCH 2
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! 3:30-4:15 p.m. on Zoom. Participants will gather in a virtual discussion around the potential each of us carries to manifest our futures! Hosted by Span Plan Nontraditional Student Services.
THURSDAY, MARCH 4
How do you light the way? 7-10 p.m. in Krach Leadership Center, Room 130A. Those attending the event will walk through three different areas spotlighting mental health awareness, affirmation, and action. Attendees will wait in the lobby of Krach before entering the walk-through, which will be constructed by moving the tables. The walkthrough style event lets us control the numbers in line with social distancing protocols, as well as give everyone a time to self-reflect on what mental health means to them. Hosted by Boiler Gold Rush.
FRIDAY, MARCH 5
Gratitude Journal: 2:30-4 p.m. in the Krach Leadership Center, Room 230. Join us as your schedule allows to create your own gratitude journal and enjoy time together. Hosted by Span Plan Nontraditional Student Support Services.
