Classroom to Career

Span Plan Nontraditional Student Services is launching a new mentoring program – matching our nontraditional students with professionals from the community. Mentor pairs are matched by similar majors, career goals, or interests. It’s a great opportunity to network, gain knowledge of the day-to-day work involved in a particular career, maybe schedule a job shadow day, and possibly have some assistance with career placement.

So, how does it work?

Span Plan staff will match mentor and mentee applications to form mentoring pairs. We will have an introductory dinner with some training on how to make the most of this relationship.  Each pair will decide the best mode of communication and connect about once a month. We’ll prompt your discussion with helpful topics and let you know of upcoming events that you may attend together or separately.

How can I get started?

Complete the application (mentor or mentee) by clicking the relevant tile below before September 25, and we’ll take it from there.  Pairs will be formed the next week and our inaugural dinner and training will be in early October.
