Civic Engagement

Season of Sharing — Nov.-Dec.

Select a name from the tree located in various campus offices and purchase holiday gifts for children and families in our community that are served by the Salvation Army and YWCA women’s shelter.

Martin Luther King Day of Service — Jan.

Make it a day-on — not a day-off — and participate in this national day of service. Experience what Dr. King referred to as “beloved community” as you commit to service on MLK Day and throughout the year! (Collaboration with Purdue MLK Day Committee)

Boiler Blast! — April

This annual event enables hundreds of Purdue volunteers to participate in a number of community service projects throughout the Greater Lafayette area. This day is a mass effort to assist community members and local non-profit agencies with spring-cleaning and other tasks that are needed. (Coordinated by the Boiler Blast Student Organization)

Project Move Out — May

Project Move Out benefits local community members and is an annual effort to divert items from landfill disposal. Students donate items such as food, clothing, electronics, books, furniture and luggage. Volunteers assist with unloading trucks and sorting donated items.

For more details on any of these programs, visit our office in the Krach Leadership Center (KRCH) Room 336 or call us at 765-496-2450.
