Nexus Postdoctoral Researcher Webinar
Description

Please plan to join us tomorrow, Friday, May 22 from 12-1 PM to the last Nexus Postdoctoral Researcher webinar of the Spring semester.
Dr. Jorge Condori will be sharing his experience using CRIPSR in his Nexus project: "Challenges in gene editing using the CRISPR/Cas9 System"
The ability to produce locus specific targeted DNA edits has become almost universally applicable to crop species with the advancement of the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) method. CRISPR holds promise to revolutionize crop improvement. In this multi-laboratory co-operative project, we propose using CRISPR technologies with wheat, quinoa, and garlic for genetic improvement of traits that are important for consumers, the environment, and growers.
Dr. Condori is part of the Nexus project: "Nexus Crops CRISPR and Phenomics: Individual and Institutional Capacity Building for Crop Science at Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (UNSA)" led by Dr. Mohsen Mohammadi (Purdue) and Dr. Maria Rosario Valderrama (UNSA).
