Subject: Finance and Business support update

Dear Colleagues,

We would like share several important announcements regarding the finance and business team that supports the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships (OEVPRP).

Purdue’s Finance team is restructuring the business area responsibility of the senior directors of finance across the West Lafayette campus. As part of this restructuring, the EVPRP Business Office will now report to Andrew Bean, senior director for financial planning and analysis, effective today, August 16. Andrew has served in many different roles within business and finance during his 15 years at Purdue, including leadership positions in the Colleges of Engineering and Pharmacy. Prior to his current position, he was a business lead for the finance transformation. Over the last six months, he has been actively involved in the financial planning for the Purdue Next Moves initiatives and establishing the business framework for the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI), LLC. The current senior director for OEVPRP, Kirke Willing, will transition to a new role, supporting the Office of the Provost and associated areas. In their new roles, Andrew and Kirke will collaborate closely to ensure that all aspects of the Purdue instructional, research, and engagement missions have strong and integrated business support.

We would also like to welcome Scott Joraanstad. He joined Purdue as the director of finance administration for OEVPRP on August 3. Prior to Purdue, Scott held many roles in budget and finance during his 23 years at Indiana University, including positions in Athletics and the IU Bookstore. Most recently, he was the senior associate athletic director for business operations, with responsibility for day-to-day operations, budget, and finances of the department. During his time with IU Bookstore, he served as the fiscal officer and directed business operations for the $18M auxiliary department. Scott holds degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota and is a certified CPA in Indiana.

As Christy Haddock begins her Fellowship in Financial Planning and Analysis, we would like to thank her for her long-standing service and dedication to advancing Purdue’s research enterprise, both as the director of post-award in Sponsored Programs Services and as the director of finance administration in OEVPRP. We expect that her work as a Fellow will address topics that will further enhance our business tools and processes to advance the academic enterprise at Purdue.

Please join us in welcoming Andrew and Scott and thanking Christy and Kirke for their previous and continued service to Purdue. Please let either one of us know if you have any questions about the transition.

We would appreciate it if you would share this message with your contacts.

Sincerely,

Eva Nodine, Associate Vice President, Finance
