Women's Health Symposium 2021
Description
The Women's Global Health Institute (WGHI) will hold its 2021 Women's Health Symposium on December 8. This hybrid symposium features a keynote speaker of Dr. Pauline Maki (University of Illinois at Chicago) on women's mental health across the life course, and four outstanding researchers at Purdue working on sex-dependent behavioral and substance use; breast cancer metastasis; safe swallowing; and community-based approach on cervical cancer screening and care.
Following the symposium talks, a poster session promotes collaborations and welcomes research on
- disease prevention;
- early detection;
- women's health;
- sex and gender differences;
- technology and tools looking for applications in women's health
Purdue graduate students having in-person posters will have a chance to win Best Poster Awards ($500 First Prize; $300 Second Prize; $150 Third Prize)
The event can be attended in-person or accessed virtually. Masks are required for all in-person attendees who must follow Protect Purdue guidelines.
