Description

Purdue’s Discovery Park, in partnership with the Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP), the Purdue Policy Research Institute (PPRI), and the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS), is hosting a Connected and Autonomous Transportation Vehicle (CATV) workshop for Purdue faculty and research staff. This free event will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, Room 121. The goal of this workshop is to identify strategic areas in which Purdue can leverage our talent and research in the areas of Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Research to help shape the future landscape of AV/CV research and development.

Main goal of the workshop:

  • Lewis-Burke Associates provide a 1 hour presentation on the current federal landscape on the policy, funding opportunities, current focus areas and insight into CATV.
  • Introduce participants to unique Purdue capabilities and research in four predesignated CATV theme areas: Safety and Security; Connected Infrastructure; Policy, Law and Societal Impacts; and Algorithms, Sensing & Connectivity or Systems & Resiliency.
  • Conduct breakout sessions on each of the theme areas to spark collaborations and determine opportunities for Purdue help shape the CATV landscape and prepare Purdue researchers to capitalize on current and future funding opportunities.

Theme Areas Identified by the group:

  1. Safety and Security (Lead by: Dongyan Xu)
  2. Connected Infrastructure (Lead by: Darcy Bullock)
  3. Policy, Law and Societal Impacts (Lead by: Rosie Clawson/PPRI)
