Description

The institute for Drug Discovery is happy to announce our latest request for applications to our Hit to Lead program.  The Hit to Lead program is designed to provide assistance to faculty lacking synthetic chemistry resources in order to progress their initial “hit” small molecule discoveries further down the drug discovery path.  Specifically, this RFA seeks non-synthetic faculty who have identified an initial molecule (through high-throughput screening, computational screening, etc.) that modulates their target of interest, yet still needs further chemical optimization.  Selected projects will be partnered with internal faculty with synthetic, organic, and/or medicinal chemistry experience or with external medicinal chemistry facilities/CROs.  Applications will undergo a 2-step review process to first prioritize projects based upon their scientific merit and then synthetic tractability of the proposed work.
