Description
The Purdue Polytechnic along with Discovery Park, Data Mine, and the Purdue Peace Project (PPP) are co-sponsoring a Purdue 150th event on human trafficking in the Americas.
This event is free to the community. Experts from around the United States, as well as community leaders and faculty from Purdue University, will provide an overview of the problem of human trafficking - which is not only an international and national problem, but also a local issue here in the Greater Lafayette Area.
In the afternoon, Purdue University students will be challenged to "hack" the problem of human trafficking by developing socio-technical solutions to mitigate human trafficking. There will be no data to "hack." Instead, this is a brainstorming event where student teams will pitch their solutions on Friday, February 15th to a panel of judges. The winning team of this competition will receive a cash prize of $4,000 in recognition of their giant leap.
