Paul Smeets Ph.D., Associate Professor, Image Sciences Institute, University Medical Center Utrecht, The Netherlands

Topic: “The Healthy and the Happy Eater’s Brain”

Dr. Smeets uses human brain imaging to understand the decision to eat based on multiple neural and hormonal signals. Focuses include neural correlates of taste, satiety, (un)healthy food choice, gut-brain interactions, effects of personality characteristics on food-induced brain responses and anorexia nervosa.
