DOE Future funding opportunities: Clean Water Technologies discussion

Institute for a Sustainable Future
June 7, 2018
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
WALC 1018

Description

We would like to cordially invite interested faculty to join a discussion session (June 7, 2018 @ 1pm, WALC 1018) for potential DOE request for proposals on DOE DesalinationHub plus Clean Water Technologies. The DOE/Advanced Manufacturing Office has conducted three workshops to gather community input on future capabilities/opportunities, metrics, technology barriers/challenges. The topics include:

1. Water Purification: membrane and non-membrane technologies; technologies for variable water quality.

2. Water Systems Integration: sensors and controls; water technologies in the energy system; water purification plant design.

3. Cross-cutting Water Processing: process intensification; integration of renewables; materials and minerals co-production.

An early discussion among interested faculty affiliates will enable us identify the best research ideas and build up a competitive interdisciplinary Purdue team for the above-identified future opportunities.

The event will kick off by a presentation on clean water technology funding opportunities from Leland Cogliani, Purdue DC contact (Lewis and Burke Associates) followed by a discussion on R&D questions and next steps. Please be prepared to share your research expertise and research questions about clean water technologies.

For next steps, please fill out the following Qualitrics to indicate your interest and if you would like to continue receive future information: Clean Water Technology Survey
