Description

Persia, and now Iran, have 30 centuries of civilization with many scientific, literal, social and governing impacts on world civilization. The presenter is planning to write a single volume covering over 60 individuals over 30 centuries. In this lecture, some of the key scientists and poets of Persia and their contributions are introduced. These outstanding and geniuses have contributed to medicine, drugs, astronomy, mathematics (Algebra, Trigonometry, etc.), literature and other areas. Among the individuals covered in this lecture are Avicinna (Bou Ali Sina), Khwarizmi, Biruni, Khayyam, Rhazes (Razi), Tusi, Genius poets Moulana Rumi, Ferdowsi, Hafez and Saadi are all covered in this lecture. Some current time outstanding scientists like Javan, Reza, Rezakhani, Zadeh, etc. are also covered.

Mo Jamshidi has spent 15 years studying the lives of Persian scientists and poets from 500 BC until the present time. He has collected data and documented information on them along the duration. He has taken on this ambitious task in order to set the record straight on the ethnicities of these geniuses and how they have influenced our lives. He has lectured on this topic in Canada, Spain, and many occasions in USA. He has over 770 published materials, including 70 books and edited volumes. Some of his books have been translated into 6 languages such as Mandarin, Russian, French, Romanian, etc.
