December 7, 2017
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
CL50 224

Description

PI4D has started a new seminar series event, The Purdue Lecture Hall Series, for local high school students to come hear current Purdue graduate students highlight their experiences and adventures in research, while also experiencing the university environment by meeting in different lecture halls throughout campus.  We want to inspire the youth of today to consider life sciences as a career choice.  PI4D Graduate Student Ambassador Diana Cortes-Selva kicked off this event on November 2 to a group of junior and senior high school students from McCutcheon and Jefferson High Schools, including Joe Ruhl the biology teacher from Jefferson High School that was recently inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.  November 16th, Brenda Gonzalez was our speaker and discussed developing better ways of deciphering the structure of viruses.  If you have a high school student at home, our next event will be Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 pm in CL50 224, this TED like talk will be by another PI4D Graduate Student Ambassador, Elizabeth Phillips
