PIDD Town hall – Thursday, November 30, 2017

We invite you to attend the town hall on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Beck Ag Center located at 4550 US 52 W., West Lafayette.  Beck Ag center location

If you are planning on attending, please let us know if you will be joining us for breakfast and/or lunch at the PIDD Town Hall Registration Link.

8:45-8:50              External collaboration opportunities - Tom Verhoeven

8:50-10:20           Short presentations by faculty on integral topics in Drug Discovery

        1. Tonglei Li (Industrical & Physical Pharmacy) - "Future of drug development"

        2. Riyi Shi (Basic Medical Sciences)  - "Drug discovery in CNS trauma: Therapeutic targets and treatment development"

        3. Bumsoo Han (Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering) - "Identification and evaluation of drug targets of cancers using tumor-microenvironement-on-chip"

10:40-11:40       Three concurrent breakout sessions - to identify needs and develop a roadmap to make PIDD unique and first-class

Breakout session #1: Ways to promote and enhance collaboration and engagement among members of the Purdue drug discovery community

              (Session Chairs: Xiaoqi Liu (Biochemistry) and Gaurav Chopra (Chemistry)

Breakout session #2: Programs, working groups and focus areas that can raise the prominence of PIDD 

              (Session Chairs: Rob Stahelin (MCMP) and Andrea Kasinski (Biological Science)

Breakout session #3: Optimal ways PIDD can help Purdue's investigators along the drug discovery process

              (Session Chairs: Sherry Harbin (Basic Medical Sciences/BME) and Mingji Dai (Chemistry)

11:40-12:10         Executive reports by session chairs to the whole group, outline key findings from working groups

12:10-1:00           Lunch and faculty networking
