Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship
October 4, 2017
8:30 PM - 10:00 PM
WALC1018

Description

This workshop will provide participants in the Business Model Competition with an introduction to the Business Model Canvas.  Throughout the competition, teams will use the Business Model Canvas concepts and framework to capture the key elements of their business idea.  The material in this session will be presented by Krannert School of Management faculty and will provide students with an understanding about concepts such as Value Propositions, Customer Segments, Customer Relationships, Revenue Models and others which are key to the early definition of a business.

Also, this workshop will introduce participants to the Customer Discovery process commonly used by early stage companies to better understand, and validate potential needs regarding their new idea.  A structured, hypothesis-driven Customer Discovery process can lead teams toward pursuing the most relevant, and valuable elements of their business model, while discarding components that do not resonate or matter to potential customers.
