Sandia National Labs Strategic Alliance with Purdue
Purdue is among a small group of research universities that has entered into a strategic alliance with Sandia Labs, one of the nation’s premier research institutions.
Sandia National Laboratories signed a memorandum of understanding with Purdue University to establish the alliance on April 16, 2015.
The goals of the alliance are to solve significant problems and accelerate technology adoption while offering new challenges and opportunities for researchers, faculty and students at both Purdue and Sandia.
The alliance provides opportunities for:
- Collaboration on research challenges;
- Increased faculty research partnerships with Sandia;
- Exchange opportunities for Purdue faculty and students and Sandia staff.
Sandia is a multi-program laboratory operated by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp., for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. With main facilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Livermore, California, Sandia has major research and development responsibilities in national security, energy and environmental technologies, and economic competitiveness.
