For most What-If exploration, however, you should direct students to&nbsp;Smart Plan, which provides a semester-by-semester path and can calculate the actual time-to-degree impact of a program change.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two tools are complementary: use&nbsp;the myPurduePlan&nbsp;What-If feature for degree audit verification and Smart Plan What-If for planning impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart Plan&nbsp;is currently available to select majors, with a full undergraduate rollout planned. Advisor-specific Smart Plan resources are forthcoming. For now, student-facing&nbsp;Smart Plan&nbsp;resources are available in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/teaching-learning\/programs\/sst\/students.php#smartplan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Smart Plan student resources<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To use the What-If feature in&nbsp;myPurduePlan: select the&nbsp;What-If&nbsp;tab on the student&#8217;s worksheet. Choose the program requirements to test \u2014&nbsp;required&nbsp;fields&nbsp;are&nbsp;Level, Degree, Catalog Term, Major and College. Process What-If&nbsp;to generate the worksheet. Notes can be\u00a0public\u00a0(visible to the student) or\u00a0internal\u00a0(not visible to the student). Students see public notes\u00a0immediately\u00a0after you save them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"\/registrar\/ferpa\/faculty-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Follow&nbsp;FERPA guidelines<\/a>&nbsp;when entering notes.
