Wellness Classes

Explore the many ways to enhance your well-being through our wellness classes. Our classes touch on all the important aspects of holistic wellness and are designed to teach you skills to live a healthy lifestyle.

Cooking Demonstrations

Our scheduled demos are open to all Purdue students, faculty, staff and RecWell members. For $10/person, you will learn how to prepare a meal, taste the food and take a recipe card home to make it again! Explore all scheduled demos below! Tired of dining out all of the time? Learn how to make restaurant-quality dishes in the comfort of your own home without having the fear of breaking the bank!

 

Super Salads

Tuesday, September 28 | 7 – 8 pm

Get the inside scoop on the health benefits of vegetarian meals, using non-meat protein sources, and take home some delicious and easy vegetarian-friendly recipes.

 

Mediterranean Meals

Wednesday, October 6 | 7 – 8 pm

Learn about the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet! This class will demonstrate how to make Baked Tilapia, Couscous, Honey Peaches, and Non-alcoholic Sangria.

 

Let’s Roll … Sushi!

Tuesday, October 19 | 7 – 8 pm

Ever wanted to try making your own sushi but been too nervous to try? This class will go over all of the techniques you’ll need to make your own customized sushi night.

 

Wizarding World

Thursday, October 28 | 7 – 8 pm

Travel to the magical world of one famous wizard and try dishes that are so magical they will have you saying, “Abra Kadabra,” all the way home!

 

Curry in a Hurry

If you want to try new herbs and spices, you won’t want to miss out on this one! Here, we’ll explore Indian cuisine with dishes that are both authentic and healthy.

Take time to relax with a variety of activities such as instructor-led guided meditations, DIY facemask, essential oils, tea and more. Free to all students, led by Wellness Ambassador.

 

Coffee and Art

Wednesday, Septemeber 15 | 4 - 5pm | RecWell Howward Taylor Conference Room

Enjoy a mid-afternoon coffee pick-up with the relaxing craft of painting on a canvas. Learn how the practice of being present in the moment can translate into other areas of your life. You will leave this workshop with your own canvas and applicable mindfulness techniques. Free to all students, led by Wellness Ambassador.

 

Moving Meditation: Nature Walk

Wednesday, September 22 | 4 - 5pm | Meet at the RecWell Circle Drive Outside

Discover new ways to build your mental focus and release stress through an intentional, soothing group walking meditation. You will leave this workshop with the skills to begin your own walking meditation practice--wherever you are! Free to all students, led by a Wellness Ambassador.

Smash Bash

Learn how to manage your stress amidst the fast-paced college environment. In this immersive experience, you will get to practice different coping skills including some unconventional ways such as yelling and smashing objects against a wall. Free to all students, led by Wellness Ambassador.
