Dr. Elizabeth Joya, DO Doctor of Osteopathy, Board Certified

Educational/Fellowship History:

I received my degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (2008-2012) in Long Island, New York.
I then completed my family medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (2012-2015) in Queens, New York.

Professional Interests/Specializations:

I like it all!

Length of time at PUSH:

Before coming to PUSH in 2019, I worked at an urgent care center in a similar college town in West Virginia.

Why do you like working at PUSH?

My favorite patients to see at my previous position were the University students. I love that my day is now filled with helping that population manage their health and well being.

Philosophy of Care:

I talk a lot and I love answering questions. I've been told by several patients they've never been told so much about their diagnosis before. I do make sure anything important is written down so it won't get lost in the information overload.

What do you like to do when you're not at PUSH?

I was born and raised in New York City, so I'm still adjusting to the wide open spaces and Midwest culture. I'm also adjusting to parenthood and spend all of my non-work time wrangling twin toddlers.

Fun Fact:

One thing that has surprised me about Purdue is how many different academic programs there are - I would love to hear about what you are studying.
