Out of Network Policy

PUSH is considered out-of-network for all insurance companies, except the university sponsored Student Resource insurance.

It is important to contact your insurance company to verify out-of-network benefits before you receive services. You may save money by finding a provider in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area that is in your network and will pay at a higher rate on submitted claims.

If a provider orders services for you at PUSH, it is important to know that you have the option to take those orders to a place/provider of your choice. Reports can be sent back to PUSH for the provider to evaluate and use in your assessment.

Please be aware that an employer negotiates benefits for their employees with an insurance company. Plans can differ greatly among employers, so that someone else, having a similar insurance company, may have their claims considered in a much different way. Just because one insurance company makes payment does not guarantee similar payments from other insurance companies. It is important to know what your particular plan will cover at PUSH.

Many managed care plans require pre-authorizations for some procedures or testing. It is the responsibility of the student to initiate that process with his/her home-based primary care provider. PUSH does not routinely do pre-authorizations unless directly requested by the primary care provider or insurance company.
