Transform Purdue Project Update
By Transform Purdue Team
The Transform Purdue project team and colleagues have been focused on preparing Purdue for an April 1 start date for the Human Capital Management (HCM) project. While we are committed as ever to the significant personal and University value generated by HCM, the team has made the decision to postpone the start date in order to improve quality and reduce risk. A new rollout date for HCM will be announced soon.
Over the past months, we have made significant gains in preparing the University for the HCM changes. However, challenges in three critical areas require additional time and attention:
- Job Family Structure deserves and needs further understanding and discussion with the units.
- Second, there is technical complexity around interfaces that requires more testing. These interfaces are the mechanisms used to pass data from system to system, both internal and external to Purdue.
- Finally, we need to make sure we’ve done enough training so that end-users will have a thorough understanding of the new processes.
The General Ledger (Finance) rollout remains on schedule for implementation in July. We have been pleased with the positive feedback received from many units and leaders who appreciate the simplified accounting structures and new approaches to transparency, data integrity, and manual processing and tracking issues.
