Provost’s office announces staff promotion, retirement

Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity announced two staff changes earlier this month.

Cherise Hall, associate provost for finance and administration, has been promoted to vice provost for finance and strategic initiatives, effective immediately.

Hall has worked at Purdue for 20 years and joined the provost’s office in 2018.  Read more about Hall’s promotion here.

“Cherise has provided tremendous leadership as we have navigated the pandemic during the past year,” said Akridge, “Her creativity and experience  will serve Purdue well as she further develops the data analytics and reporting capabilities of IDA+A, and in her expanded role as co-lead for the Transformative Education 2.0 Next Moves initiative.”

Akridge also acknowledged the contributions of Candiss B. Vibbert, associate provost for special initiatives. Vibbert will retire on June 30, after 41 years at Purdue.  Read more about Vibbert’s career and retirement here.

“We are very fortunate to have had Candiss as a part of our leadership team,” said Akridge. “She has been a terrific ambassador for Purdue with external agencies, and I will miss her steadfast commitment to excellence in all she does.”
