Transform Purdue moves closer to start date
By Transform Purdue Team
Human Capital Management (HCM)
We are less than 60 days away from our March 19 start date when our non-exempt, biweekly employees and their supervisors will begin using the new time entry and approval system. The rest of our employees will begin using the system on April 1.
In anticipation of our start date, the project team, stakeholders and an external consulting team performed a complete assessment of the system. This helpful review showed us that we needed to reorganize some of our resources and responsibilities, postponing a few of our process changes.
Soon, we will finish testing the new system and begin the training program. We recently learned that some employees are not sure about how the new processes will affect their jobs so we’re making sure the information is made clear in our training. Change leaders representing HR and Purdue’s Business Management offices will be visiting with department and unit heads to help communitcate everything you’ll need to know in your areas. The central project team also will provide tools designed to help with training and implementation. We look forward to full participation and are happy to provide support.
General Ledger (Finance)
Recent success with the account mapping pilot in 11 departments led to expansion to the entire University. We now have data structures within SAP that create significant transparency within every unit and consistency across units, providing a dramatic reduction in the time and effort required to manage both departmental and faculty accounts. In total, we have eliminated about 50 percent of the accounts historically used to track our activities! Thanks to all business office personnel for their extremely helpful contributions in this process. Members of the Transform Purdue team will meet with faculty and department and unit leadership to review the results of this work over the next several weeks. Implementation will begin in July.
