By Mary Jane Chew

J-Term Conversation, vaccine survey, Reading Days and more

  • The Provost will host a campus-wide virtual “J-Term Conversation” from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 to discuss the idea of adding a voluntary four-week January term to the academic calendar. More details are available here. Faculty and staff can submit questions and view the Conversation here.
  • Purdue University students, faculty and staff affiliated with the West Lafayette campus are asked to participate in a formal survey in connection with Purdue’s plan to host a COVID-19 vaccination site.

The survey, conducted by the Purdue COVID-19 Vaccine Allocation Task Force, will help gauge demand for and perceptions of the vaccine among the campus community.

The survey can be completed online and individuals also will receive an email invitation to complete the survey. A Purdue career account and password are required to complete the survey. Responses are requested by Friday, March 5.

  • The first of three Readings Days was held on Feb. 17. Instructors, students and staff took the time to catch up, unwind and have some fun.  See how your fellow Boilers spent the day and check out some options for future Reading Days here.   The next Reading Day is March 18.
  • President Mitch Daniels and Provost Jay Akridge have shared a planning update for Fall 2021 which discusses our starting point for fall semester planning.
  • The next Protect Purdue Conversation is scheduled for Monday, March 15 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The topic will be Vaccines and Fall 2021.  Go here to submit advance questions and view the virtual event.
  • All Protect Purdue updates for spring semester are shared in the Protect Purdue Weekly Briefing and posted on the Protect Purdue web site.
