Faculty and staff wellbeing the focus of System-Wide Forum

All employees are encouraged to attend the 2021 virtual System-Wide Forum – scheduled for the afternoons of September 23 and 24. The theme this year is “Fostering Wellbeing Through Community and Connections.”

Heather Servaty-Seib and Rod Williams named to new roles

The Office of the Provost has announced new appointments for Heather Servaty-Seib and Rod N. Williams. Servaty-Seib, professor of counseling psychology in the College of Education and associate dean for student life in the Honors College, has been named associate vice provost for teaching and learning. Williams, professor of wildlife sciences in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, has been named assistant provost for engagement. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Trustees ratify named professorships for French and Simsek

The Purdue Board of Trustees have ratified the named professorships of Richard (Mark) French and Senay Simsek. In their meeting on Aug. 6, the trustees ratified French as the 150th Anniversary Professor of Engineering Technology. Simsek was named the Dean’s Chair in Food Science.

Provost’s Fellow position drives Fulbright Scholar success

Despite the challenges created by the pandemic during academic year 2020-2021, Purdue was very successful in the Fulbright Scholar Award competition with 6 faculty awardees and 2 alternates. That figure is the third highest number of Fulbright Scholars Purdue has received in a year.
