Solar drier being tested in Kenya and Senegal

Purdue received USAID funding (2014-2019) focused on PHL reduction and value-added processing of crops in the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Processing and Post-harvest Handling (FPL).  Its goal is to increase access to safe and nutritious foods along the value chain by: 1) improving the drying and storage capacity of smallholder farmers, and 2) expanding market opportunities through diversified products to address quality and nutrition needs.  The project is initially focused on cereal and grain legume value chains in Kenya and Senegal.
