Public Information

The Purdue Police Department works closely with the news media, including student publications, to publicize crimes and criminal investigations. Each month, the department releases a summary of reported crimes to the news media and students and to other individuals who request the information. These reports include monthly and school year totals of rape, assault, burglary, drunk driving, drug offenses, and other crimes. Purdue Police Daily Activity logs are open to the general public for inspection.

The police department and the Office of the Dean of Students cooperatively distribute publications that address issues such as sex offenses, including acquaintance rape and rape; alcohol abuse; and theft.
