The PMO Kids Choir is an auditioned group of local children, ages 8-12, who perform onstage during the Purdue Christmas Show. Directed by Jacob Stensberg, members audition in September and rehearse throughout the fall. Their clear voices and youthful enthusiasm add a bright spot to the annual Christmas Show.
Kids Choir auditions will take place on Monday, September 24, at 4:30 pm in the Smith Room of Ralph and Bettye Bailey Hall, located at 359 Northwestern Ave. We will have some paperwork for parents to fill out; there will be a brief information session, and then children will come into the audition room and sing in groups. The audition will end no later than 6:30 pm.
The music can be found here: Kids Choir Music 2018. Please prepare to sing verses 1 and 2 through measure 16. A recording is available online by clicking here, and the .mp3 recording is available below:
Memorization is NOT required; we simply want to hear your child sing confidently and pleasantly. There is no dancing portion of the audition.
Rehearsals will begin Monday, October 1 from 4:30-5:30 in the Smith Room of Bailey Hall and run every Monday until the Christmas Show. Additional rehearsals will be required the week beginning Monday, November 26.
If you have questions, please contact Jacob Stensberg, Kids Choir Director.
