Center Stage: Purduettes at Naturalization Ceremony

Friday, September 3, 2010

The ladies sit patiently as they wait for the ceremony to begin, where excited immigrants from Lafayette and West Lafayette, IN became United States citizens. The ceremony included a lesson on proper etiquette while the American flag is present.

The Purduettes show proper flag etiquette by keeping their arms to the sides and not holding anything in their hands.

The poised ladies sing the national anthem to help the audience show reverence to the "bright stars and broad stripes."

Seniors Tara Knoop, Sarah Kretzman and junior Alex Robinson sing the final song of the afternoon. The Purduettes loved showing their American pride to the newest citizens of the United States.
