Capital Program Planning Process Key Dates

The Capital Program Planning Process guides the development and prioritization of all planned capital construction projects in alignment with the strategic goals of the University. The project lists that colleges/areas submit should include all construction projects and studies to be funded in FY21.

Key Process Dates

2019

  • May 1 – Central R&R preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests submitted. 

  • July 1 – Non-academic areas (excluding central R&R) and regional campuses submit preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests (Non-academic areas include Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer (excluding Information Technology at Purdue), Student Life, and Athletics).

  • Oct. 1 – Academic areas submit preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests (Academic areas include Provost (excluding Student Life), Executive Vice President for Research and Partnership, and Information Technology at Purdue; potential R&R Matching Fund projects must be identified on the submittal.

    • Provost units estimate total unit funding available for FY21 R&R projects.

  • Dec. 2 – FY21 Annual Target Budgets for major areas will be communicated by FP&A.

    • Deadline for Physical Facilities to return FY21 R&R Matching Fund estimates to clients (WL campus).

  • Dec. 16 – FY21 Annual Target Budgets for Provost units will be communicated by Provost.

  • Dec. 20 – Deadline for FY21 R&R Matching Fund applications (WL campus).

 

2020

  • Jan. 31 – Deadline for Physical Facilities to return all FY21 estimates to clients. (Estimates returned as completed, late requests may not be returned by deadline).

    • Deadline for Physical Facilities to notify units of projects selected for FY21 R&R Matching Fund program.

  • Feb. 14 – Deadline for Provost units to submit final FY21 project lists to Provost with funding.

  • March 2 – Deadline for all areas to submit final FY21 project lists with funding information. 

    • Deadline for FY21 Special R&R Project requests.

  • April 1 – Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer approval of FY21 system-wide capital program.

  • June 15 – Deadline for FY20 Variance requests (can be submitted throughout the year, must have current Physical Facilities estimate and approved funding source).
