Capital Program Planning Process Key Dates

The Capital Program Planning Process guides the development and prioritization of all planned capital construction projects in alignment with the strategic goals of the University. The project lists that colleges/areas submit should include all construction projects and studies to be funded in FY21.

Key Process Dates

2019

  • May 1 – Central R&R preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests submitted. 

  • July 1 – Non-academic areas (excluding central R&R) and regional campuses submitted preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests (Non-academic areas include Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer (excluding Information Technology at Purdue), Student Life, and Athletics).

  • Oct. 1 – Academic areas submitted preliminary draft FY21 project list and estimate requests (Academic areas include Provost (excluding Student Life), Executive Vice President for Research and Partnership, and Information Technology at Purdue; potential R&R Matching Fund projects must be identified on the submittal.

    • Provost units estimate total unit funding available for FY21 R&R projects.

  • Dec. 2 – FY21 R&R Matching Fund estimates returned to clients (WL campus).

  • Dec. 20 – FY21 R&R Matching Fund applications submitted (WL campus).

2020

  • Jan. 10 – FY21 Annual Target Budgets for segments communicated by Financial Planning and Analysis. 

  • Jan. 31 – Deadline for Physical Facilities to return all FY21 estimates to clients. (Estimates returned as completed, late requests may not be returned by deadline).

    • Deadline for Physical Facilities to notify units of projects selected for FY21 R&R Matching Fund program.

  • Feb. 14 – Deadline for Provost/Executive Vice President for Research and Partnership units to submit final FY21 project lists to Provost/Executive Vice President for Research and Partnership respectively with funding.

  • March 2 – Deadline for all segments to submit final FY21 project lists with funding information.

  • April 1 – Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer approval of FY21 system-wide capital program.

  • June 12 – FY21 R&R/UIR Plan included in FY21 Annual Operating Budget approved by the Board of Trustees.

  • July 1 – FY21 projects formally initiated.
