General Contractor Performance Evaluation
The Contractor Performance Evaluation System has been developed to evaluate the performance of contractors on Purdue University’s public works construction projects in order to determine the “lowest and best bidder” for purposes of compliance with I.C. § 5-16-1.1.2.
The frequency of the evaluations will be based on the contract duration and the percent of physical work completed, and the evaluation criteria will include the following categories:
- Quality of work
- Cost control
- Schedule/time management
- Labor standards
- Safety standards
- Close out
Within each category, the evaluation will focus on two distinct areas: compliance with the requirements of the contract documents and performance and quality of the actual project work. The contractor will receive one of the following ratings:
Purdue will notify the contractor of the results of the performance evaluation with a cover letter and a copy of the Contractor Performance Evaluation Form with any supporting documents. The cover letter will outline the next steps required of the contractor, if any.
