Purdue University Police Department offering self defense training
The Purdue University Police Department is offering a SAFE (Self-Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange) training session on Saturday (May 3) at 2 p.m. at their facility located at 205 S. Martin Jischke Dr., West Lafayette.
The SAFE training is a two and a half hour introduction to women’s self-defense program. The program consists of a one hour safety talk/awareness session, a video and a one hour long introduction to basic physical defense tactics. The program is free of charge, and the minimum age for participants is twelve. Affiliation with the University is not required to register, and participants will be registered in the order in which the requests are received. Athletic style clothing is recommended and shorts are not permitted.
