Speciality Department Meetings

Between 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) - Students and their guests may choose to visit the following departments or other areas of interest any point during the day (note- some areas will have limited staffing over lunch).

  • BLACK CULTURAL CENTER (BCC)- 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    • Visit the BCC, expand your cultural horizons and find ways to enrich your Purdue experience through the performing arts.
  • DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER (DRC)- Young Hall, 8th floor. Options for visiting the DRC include:
    • Call 765-494-1247 to schedule a 30-minute appointment with access consultant for your STAR day
    • Visit the DRC hospitality room in YONG 846 for general questions during your STAR day anytime between 10:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
    • Contact the DRC post-STAR to arrange a meeting prior to the start of classes
  • SCIENCE DIVERSITY OFFICE INFORMATION SESSION- 10:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. (except Wednesdays) - Beering (BRNG) 1245
    • The Science Diversity Office staff welcomes students and families to learn about various programmatic offerings to aid in the retention, growth and advocacy of underrepresented students and women within the College of Science.
  • VETERANS SUCCESS CENTER- 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.- Purdue Memorial Union (PMU), Rooms 284/286
    • Staff will be available to answer questions regarding the GI Bill and other military education benefits. The Veterans Success Center is open to all military-connected students and their dependents.
  • PURDUE PHARMACY- 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Robert Heine Pharmacy Building (RHPH)
    • Families may walk-in to have health insurance information entered into the system and have students complete and return the “Authorization to Share” form.
  • BAND AUDITIONS- Purdue Bands & Orchestras will be hosting auditions from 10:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
    • If your student would like to audition for a concert band or orchestra, they will need to stop by Elliott Hall of Music, Room 135.
    • If they would like to audition for a jazz band, they would need to stop by Slayter Center. For additional questions, contact 765-494-0770.
    • All instruments must be picked up by 4:00 p.m.
  • HONORS COLLEGE TEA- 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. Stewart Center (STEW), Ringel Gallery
    • Honors College students and their families are invited to complete their STAR day with a tea hosted by the Honors College.  The event will be co-hosted by Dr. Emily Allen, Associate Dean of the Honors College and Mike Morton, Honors College Advisor.
  • UNIVERSITY RESIDENCES GUEST & ALUMNI CENTER (open until 5:30 p.m.) - Cary Quad
    • Tour a sample residence hall room
      • Cary Quad open until 5:30 p.m.
      • Shreve Hall only open 11-1 p.m.
