The purpose of the Membership Committee is to serve the Purdue academic advising community by acting as the gatekeeper of professional membership. This includes promoting, establishing, and maintaining membership in the Association.
The Committee maintains current and accurate records of membership, category of members, status of members, and other data deemed necessary. It also promotes and publicizes to increase membership, welcomes new members to the Association, and creates membership packets for all members each year. It recognizes and bestows “Lifetime Colleague” status on retiring members.
The Committee recognizes excellence. It solicits nominations for, selects, and recognizes the PACADA Outstanding Advisor and Outstanding New Professional Awards. It then encourages the selected individuals to submit their nomination materials for national recognition at the NACADA National Conference.
The Committee also coordinates occasional social events for members, and develops recommendations for the Steering Committee concerning eligibility and requirements for membership.
