Dear Boilermaker, Purdue's Orientation Programs team is here to help you experience a successful academic and social transition to Purdue! We are excited to help make your introduction into the campus community as smooth as possible. Please read the following information carefully to learn a bit more about our orientation experiences, some of which are required as part of your transition leading up to the spring semester.
Purdue 101 is our required online orientation program for all new undergraduate students. This program takes place in Brightspace, a system where you will see all of your course information each semester. Purdue 101 will guide you through campus resources and connect you to your academic advisor to plan courses so you can make a strong start at Purdue! You must complete Purdue 101 so you can connect with your academic advisor and register for courses. Please complete all action items in your Purdue 101 modules as soon as you can! The final step is completing your Student Information Form in the last module, which will notify your advisor that you’re ready to meet with them. Purdue 101 has begun, and you can now access it in Brightspace .
HOW DO I LOG IN TO PURDUE 101? Students will log in to Purdue’s Brightspace learning management system to complete the Purdue 101 modules. Click here to log in to Brightspace and click the “Purdue University – West Lafayette” section to log in with your Purdue career account information. Brightspace can also be accessed through the Pulse App, which can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play . If you have trouble logging in to Brightspace, or any other technical issues, please review Purdue's IT resource for new students for help with common questions.
This is our welcome weekend program for new all undergraduate first-year and transfer students. BCR takes place from Jan. 6-7, 2023, the weekend before classes begin, and we encourage all new students to participate! You’ll learn about campus traditions, Purdue culture and university resources. It’s also a great way to make lasting friendships and learn how to be a successful Boilermaker while gaining direct guidance from current Purdue students. Transfer students will be placed with other new transfer students with similar journeys during the program to meet their unique needs. The program fee is $150 for on-campus students (those living with University Residences) and $200 for off-campus students (those not living with University Residences). O ur office offers fee waivers for students with financial hardships. BCR registration and the waiver application is now open on your New Student Task List in your myPurdue portal. More information about BCR will be emailed to students in the coming weeks.
In addition to completing Purdue 101 before your arrival, we encourage you to keep making progress on your New Student Task List in your myPurdue portal. It's important to log in to your New Student Task List regularly, as new items will appear in the weeks leading up to your arrival. If you have any questions about Orientation Programs, please let us know! You can email us at studentsuccess@purdue.edu or call us at (765) 494-9328.
