Orientation Partners,
I wanted to invite you to join us for a presentation that looks ahead to new student orientation this summer and fall. We are hosting an Orientation Updates session at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5. This event will be hosted live, in-person at Fowler Hall in the Stewart Center, and also live-streamed on YouTube for those who wish to join us virtually. This link can also be used to watch the presentation after it has concluded. This 50-minute presentation will focus on the work done over the last year to connect students to Purdue through the orientation experience, and preview what to expect for our programs in 2022. Registration is not required.
The orientation experience will officially begin for our incoming students in May, as they start with “VSTAR Part 1.” Below are some important dates that may impact you and our students, and we’ll talk about them during our presentation on April 5.

IMPORTANT ORIENTATION DATES
- May 2: VSTAR Part 1 opens in Brightspace
- June 1: VSTAR Part 2 opens in Brightspace (summer beginners)
- June 10: Deadline to complete VSTAR Part 1 (summer beginners)
- June 10: Summer Visit Day #1
- June 17: Summer Visit Day #2
- June 24: Summer Visit Day #3
- June 24: Deadline to complete VSTAR Part 1 (fall beginners)
- July 1: VSTAR Part 2 opens in Brightspace (fall beginners)
- July 31: Deadline to register for Boiler Gold Rush and Boiler Gold Rush International (this is also the deadline to cancel BGR registration for a refund)
- Aug. 12: BGR International Move-in
- Aug. 13-15: BGR International Program dates
- Aug. 14-16: BGR Move-in
- Aug. 16-20: BGR Program dates

These dates and programs will be communicated to our students and family members via email as part of an intentional communication strategy. Any email communications that we send will be archived on our website and accessible for you to view after the messages have been sent.
