BGR Student Orientation Committee

The Student Orientation Committee (SOC) serves as the student face of Orientation Programs, and works to create a good experience for new students, their Team Leaders, their Team Supervisors, and full time staff members on campus.

The SOC Chair position is designed to have an undergraduate student leader work cohesively with a team of peers to facilitate the vision and mission of Orientation Programs’ student staff for the upcoming academic year. This role is the “face” of Orientation Programs, for the student leaders that are part of it, and a liaison to the Professional Staff that will interact with this student throughout the year. Their relationship is built early on with Professional Staff, and is critical to the success of the SOC. This year's SOC Chair is Jamie Lautenschlager.

Recruitment and Retention

The individuals representing Recruitment and Retention are responsible for the coordination of the Team Supervisor and Team Leader recruitment processes such as creating Call-outs, and the design and implementation of the Team Supervisor and Team Leader interview and selection processes. This year's Recruitment and Retention subcommittee members are Rachael Feinberg, Cameron Ball, and Breianna Mildor.

Orientation Initiatives

The individuals representing Orientation Initiatives are responsible for the coordination of a diversity awareness campaign, development and implementation of Freezone programs. They also work to create a culture of vulnerability, storytelling, and affinity to Orientation Programs amongst our student staff. This year's Orientation Initiatives subcommittee members are Anant Narain and Andrea Wittekind.

Training and Development

The individuals representing Training and Development are responsible for training all levels of our program which include Team Supervisors and Team Leaders throughout the course of the year in preparation for Boiler Gold Rush. This year's Training and Development subcommittee members are Meena Mathur, Kailey Kerkman, and Garrett Garver.
