Activities and Schedule

What will I be doing during BGRi?

When you check-in Friday Aug. 10, 2018, you will have a calm day to settle into your residence hall and recover from your long journey to Purdue. Depending on your arrival time, you will have plenty of opportunity to shop, take care of banking needs, purchase a cell phone, etc. BGRi events officially begin the evening of Aug. 10 and last until Aug. 14. You will quickly find yourself immersed in small group activities with your Team Leader International and larger group seminars about topics essential to your success at Purdue. BGRi will also provide transportation and opportunities for shopping trips to local stores. MISCi sessions for BGRi participants will occur on Monday and Tuesday. No need to schedule a Mandatory International Student Check-In (MISCi) session, we'll take care of that for you.

Can my parents participate at BGRi with me?

Yes! We have an International Parents Welcome Program designed just for your parents. They will attend this program, while you are participating in BGRi and connecting with your Team Leader International (TLi) and other BGRi participants. You will be participating in activities designed to help students adjust to Purdue. The International Parents Welcome Program is for your parents to learn more about Purdue, go on a campus tour, attend information events, enjoy meals with other parents and guests, and during a few special times both the student and parents will get to enjoy an event together. For more information on International parent orientation, visit https://www.purdue.edu/ippu/cilmar/parents/
