{"id":5327,"date":"2026-09-03T15:04:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T15:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/?p=5327"},"modified":"2026-09-03T15:04:36","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T15:04:36","slug":"transformative-capital-projects-in-west-lafayette-and-indianapolis-continue-to-take-shape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/09\/03\/transformative-capital-projects-in-west-lafayette-and-indianapolis-continue-to-take-shape\/","title":{"rendered":"Transformative capital projects in West Lafayette and Indianapolis continue to take shape"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Progress on some transformative capital projects continues in West Lafayette and Indianapolis as a new academic year gets underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following road, sidewalk and parking impacts will be in place this fall:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/08\/12\/sheetz-street-restrictions-continue-as-work-progresses-on-daniels-school-of-business-project\/\"><strong>Mitch Daniels School of Business<\/strong><\/a>: Northbound lane and sidewalk restrictions along Sheetz Street from Wood Street to Mitch Daniels Boulevard remain in place as construction continues on the&nbsp;new facility for the Daniels School of Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is expected to be completed in April 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/08\/19\/south-russell-street-impacts-to-remain-in-place-for-new-academic-year\/\"><strong>Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building<\/strong><\/a>: Southbound South Russell Street, just south of Mitch Daniels Boulevard, remains closed for construction on the&nbsp;Nursing and Pharmacy Education Building this fall. Only the northbound lane is currently open to traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The building was recently named the Darr-Chaney Hall of Pharmacy and Dauch Hall of Nursing and is slated to be open for the 2027 spring semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/08\/19\/work-continues-on-ceiling-tile-replacement-project-at-elliott-hall-of-music\/\"><strong>Elliott Hall of Music Ceiling Replacement Project<\/strong><\/a>:Scaffolding setup is complete for the replacement of the building&#8217;s 90-year-old ceiling tiles. The next phase, ceiling grid installation, is scheduled to start in early September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is on schedule for a January 2027 completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/08\/19\/progress-continues-on-academic-success-building-in-indianapolis-as-fall-semester-begins\/\"><strong>Academic Success Building in Indianapolis<\/strong><\/a>: Construction continues this fall on the Academic Success Building, located near the intersection of N. West Street and W. Michigan Street in Indianapolis. The new facility will provide several classrooms and laboratories for academic programming, nearly 500 beds for residential use and a dining area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is set to be complete in May 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For updates on campus construction, visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/capital-asset-management\/current-construction\/\">Construction and Travel Notices webpage<\/a>.
