{"id":5261,"date":"2026-08-24T18:18:48","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T18:18:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/?p=5261"},"modified":"2026-08-24T18:18:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T18:18:50","slug":"transit-parking-mail-service-and-space-reservations-in-indianapolis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/08\/24\/transit-parking-mail-service-and-space-reservations-in-indianapolis\/","title":{"rendered":"Transit, parking, mail service and space reservations in Indianapolis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the start of a new academic year, several reminders and updates about auxiliary services including transit, parking, mail and space reservations are available for Purdue faculty, staff and students in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New: Campus Transit shuttle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As a new offering this year, free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/campus-mobility\/home\/campus-transit\/indianapolis\/\">Campus Transit shuttle service<\/a> will be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The shuttle will pick up and drop off at the Indianapolis location, 16 Tech Innovation District and Motorsports Engineering at Dallara in Speedway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Campus Connect shuttle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The fall schedule for the free Campus Connect shuttle, which runs seven days per week between West Lafayette and Indianapolis, began on Aug. 15.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maps of pick-up and drop-off locations, schedules and how to access the app for ride reservations are included on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/campus-mobility\/home\/campus-connect-shuttle\/\">Purdue\u2019s Campus Mobility website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jagline transit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Purdue students, faculty, and staff have free access to the Jagline. Routes and more information are available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/parking.indianapolis.iu.edu\/transportation\/bus\/bus.html\">IU Indianapolis Parking and Transportation Services website<\/a>. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most parking locations in Indianapolis require an IU Indianapolis parking permit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Departments may purchase visitor and special event parking passes for the 501 Indiana Ave. and 401 W. Michigan St. lots by emailing <a href=\"mailto:parking@purdue.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">parking@purdue.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IU Indianapolis offers parking garage validations for departmental visitors with monthly invoicing. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/parking\/home\/permits\/indianapolis\/\">Purdue\u2019s Parking Operations website<\/a> provides more information about annual permits, parking reciprocity in West Lafayette and numerous IU Indianapolis links and resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mail services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/materials\/mail-services\/#external\">Weekday external campus mail and USPS mail<\/a> are handled by IU Indianapolis Print and Mail Services for several campus buildings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Student Center, Lux on Capitol, North Hall, Sigma Theta Tau and the Health and Human Sciences suite in Canal Square Apartments are serviced directly by USPS and other carriers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/materials\/mail-services\/#intercampus\">Weekly intercampus mail<\/a> services between West Lafayette and Indianapolis are provided by Purdue Materials Management and Distribution and UPS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200bNon-academic space reservations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Purdue-managed space should be considered first for meetings, events or other non-academic purposes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outdoor space is reservable at 401 Courtyard and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/pmu\/events\/venues\/boiler-park\/\">Boiler Park<\/a>. Boiler Park\u2019s amenities include tables, chairs, umbrellas and yard games. A basketball court and pickleball court are newly available for the 2026-27 academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IU Indianapolis space may be considered and reserved if the locations above are unavailable or insufficient. \u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reservation processes for various spaces and escalating a reservation request are outlined on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/pmu\/events\/venues\/non-academic-in\/\">Purdue Memorial Union website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Administrative Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Administrative Operations supports the university with safe, reliable and transformative services.
