{"id":4915,"date":"2026-06-23T13:22:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T13:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/?p=4915"},"modified":"2026-06-24T18:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T18:14:11","slug":"new-employees-encouraged-to-review-tax-withholding-information-after-hire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/blog\/2026\/06\/23\/new-employees-encouraged-to-review-tax-withholding-information-after-hire\/","title":{"rendered":"New employees encouraged to review tax withholding information after hire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A recent update to Purdue&#8217;s onboarding process has changed how tax withholding information is handled for new employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the transition to SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0, federal and state tax withholding forms are no longer completed during the onboarding process, and new employees will not receive an automated reminder to submit or update their tax information after hire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, newly hired employees are automatically assigned default withholding settings when they begin employment. These settings are intended to help minimize the risk of under-withholding; however, they may not reflect an individual&#8217;s personal tax situation. Because of this, employees are encouraged to review their tax withholding information as soon as possible after starting at Purdue and make any necessary updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tax withholding information can be updated at any time through SuccessFactors using the BSI Tax Factory Forms. Employees should consider consulting a tax professional if they have questions about the withholding elections that are most appropriate for their circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Administrative Operations has incorporated this information into its New Employee Orientation process to help ensure new team members are aware of the change and understand the importance of reviewing their withholding elections after hire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employees with questions about payroll or tax withholding should contact Human Resources for assistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent update to Purdue&#8217;s onboarding process has changed how tax withholding information is handled for new employees.
