The objective is to teach skills to help attendees learn to remain calm and react more effectively when confronted with anger and to try to reduce the chance of escalation to physical aggression. The training includes exercises involving body language\/posturing and empathetic verbal language. Verbal de-escalation skills can be helpful both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In-person session:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuesday, June 30, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Stewart Center, room 320<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Microsoft Teams sessions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Friday, July 10, 1:30-3:30 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wednesday, July 15, 9:30-11:30 a.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are all duplicate sessions, so participants should only register for one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To register for one of these sessions, contact Lt.&nbsp;Sarah&nbsp;Clark&nbsp;at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:sclark32@purdue.edu\">sclark32@purdue.edu<\/a>. Please indicate the preferred session when registering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minimum age for participants is 18.
