Dec. 8 fundraiser will support Shop with a Firefighter event"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"modal-ready\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Purdue University Fire Department (PUFD) is once again partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette to host a Shop with Firefighter event this holiday season. Local children and their families join a firefighter to shop for clothes, toys and other items that may be on their wish list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to help support this year\u2019s shopping event, the fire department is hosting a fundraising event at Nine Irish Brothers in West Lafayette on Monday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. A portion of sales will be donated to the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are very grateful for the incredible support from the community, Nine Irish Brothers and the West Lafayette Meijer to make this event possible,\u201d said Chief Brad Anderson. \u201cOur firefighters enjoy getting to know the kids and their families\u2014all while giving back and spreading holiday cheer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Individuals who wish to donate directly can send a check made payable to Purdue Firefighters to their campus address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purdue Firefighters<br>Attn: Shop with a Firefighter<br>1250 W.
