To facilitate critical software updates and promote overall computer health, the following steps are recommended:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restart the computer at the end of each shift<\/li>\n<li>Leave the computer powered on<\/li>\n<li>Remain plugged into the network or connected to the VPN (webvpn2.purdue.edu is suggested)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For shared computers, supervisors are encouraged to complete these steps daily.<\/p>\n<p>Users are also encouraged to check the Software Center for non-critical updates and install them as they are available.
