Whether you are a supervisor guiding your team or an employee looking to grow, take time to reflect on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What skills have I strengthened in the past year?<\/li>\n<li>What do I need to develop to be more effective in my role?<\/li>\n<li>How can I use my Individual Development Plan (IDP) and available resources to take action?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Resources available include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your Supervisor \u2014 Partner with your leader to discuss growth opportunities and set meaningful development goals.<\/li>\n<li>LinkedIn Learning \u2014 Take advantage of online learning to strengthen key competencies at your own pace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leaders and Supervisors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How have I supported my team\u2019s development over the past year?<\/li>\n<li>What areas of leadership do I need to refine to better support my employees?<\/li>\n<li>How can I use the <a title=\"Leadership Competency Model\" href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/administrative-operations\/intranet\/documents\/leadership-competencies.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leadership Competency Model<\/a> and IDPs to guide development conversations?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, be sure to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review your team\u2019s IDPs and schedule time to check in on progress.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage employees to explore LinkedIn Learning and other resources tailored to their needs.<\/li>\n<li>Use the Leadership Competency Model to assess strengths and develop your own skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Make Feb. 13 Count<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professional Development Day is more than just a date\u2014it is a reminder to invest in yourself and your future.
