Licensees, or those given permission, will submit each proposed use, product, or design to the Trademarks and Licensing office or to Purdue&#8217;s authorized agent (for commercial products) for approval.<\/p>\n\n            <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal has-gray-background\"><div class=\"section has-padding-top-large has-padding-bottom-large\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"column is-full tab-container\"><div class=\"arrow\"><\/div><div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__headers\" role=\"tablist\"><button id=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-0\" class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__header \" role=\"tab\" aria-controls=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-0\"><h3 class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__header-text\">Non-&#8220;University-Related Product&#8221;<\/h3><\/button><button id=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\" class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__header  active\" role=\"tab\" aria-controls=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\"><h3 class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__header-text\">Additional Unapproved Product<\/h3><\/button><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"container tab-content\"><div class=\"columns\"><div class=\"column is-full\">\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__panel\" aria-labelledby=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-0\" id=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-0\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">If the product in question is not a university-related product (defined below), Trademarks and Licensing will NOT approve the use of its trademarks on the following products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c5a3dd7627e34abb5c91ccd6874ba9aa\">\n<li>Tobacco or tobacco-containing products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legally controlled substances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexually oriented products or designs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Religiously affiliated products or designs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political products or designs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Games of chance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appliques, patches or heat transfers for retail sale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any item, including clothing or other apparel, which also contains an image or other depiction of: alcoholic beverages; tobacco or tobacco-containing products; an illegal substance; a legally controlled substance; sexually suggestive text, imagery or graphics; religious symbols or language promoting or disparaging any religion; political text, graphics or imagery or in conjunction with a political group or organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__panel active\" aria-labelledby=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\" id=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, Trademarks and Licensing will NOT approve:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-7b6f6981380dd6b3e6c4621c2fec7f1b\">\n<li>Use of Purdue trademarks in text or graphics that are judged to be sexually suggestive; denigrate any groups, including another college or university; or infringe on the rights of other trademark owners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Products that do not meet minimum standards of quality and\/or good taste or those that are judged to be dangerous or carry high product liability risks, based on Trademarks and Licensing&#8217;s discretion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of Purdue trademarks on any product or design that may violate NCAA rules, based on Trademarks and Licensing&#8217;s discretion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div  class=\"section \">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n                \n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns page-layout-columns columns is-multiline is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column is-full-tablet page-layout-main is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">A &#8220;university-related product&#8221; is a product, such as a beverage, which is the subject of a written license between the university and the licensee-producer that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>Is designed to advance some aspect of the university&#8217;s academic, research or engagement mission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requires adherence to branding guidelines maintained by the university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generates proceeds for the university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is approved by the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer as well as the Vice President of Public Affairs of the university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Trademarks and Licensing approves products or designs incorporating its current trademarks.
